A key part of mathematical belonging is “the opportunity to add value.” In this session, we’ll explore and discuss teaching practices (e.g., what tasks we give, how we form groups, how we assess, what values we convey, etc.) that create communities in which all students see themselves—and their classmates—as mathematicians having interesting and important ideas of their own.
