WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

The Low Arousal Approach workshop introduces staff to a practical, compassionate framework for supporting students with complex behavioural, social, and emotional needs. Grounded in the idea that behaviour is communication, the training focuses on reducing stress, preventing escalation, and responding in calm, non-confrontational ways. Participants will explore key principles such as adult self-regulation, adapting demands, and using supportive communication. The session includes practical strategies and real-world examples that can be applied immediately in classrooms and across school settings.

Beginning the school year with a full staff, this session is a powerful opportunity to build a shared understanding and consistent approach. When all staff use similar strategies, students experience greater predictability and support, and teams are better equipped to respond effectively from the start of the year.

To register your school, please contact Heather Lavigne [email protected] or Sharon Power [email protected]

There are limited spots as this session is in person.
