Wondering how to best support the growth and engagement of your newcomer students as they begin to add English to their existing language repertoire? Through a culturally responsive lens, we will look at practical and evidence-based strategies that can be used across grade levels and content areas to support beginning and developing ELLs’ oracy and literacy development. With both immigrant and refugee learners in mind, ways to support newcomers’ unique social and emotional needs will also be shared.
