DESCRIPTION

A collection of films that include documentaries, animations, experimental films, fiction and interactive works that showcase films that tell Canadians stories about the environment, human rights, international conflict, the arts and more. Also available in French.


DISTRICT USE: APPROVED  

  • This resource is approved for K - 12 classroom use in the Surrey School District
  • Subscription to NFB Campus, the NFB teachers' resource, is paid for by the Surrey School District.


TOOLS & FEATURES

  • There are a large variety of films/videos for all ages
  • Content has clearly labelled age recommendations 
  • A large variety of documentaries, films, and animations that can be searched for by theme, age level, or type of film  
  • An education blog is available that lists activities and lessons that students can do from home  
  • There is a teacher resource section including educational playlists, apps and interactive projects, study guides, and mini-lessons  
  • Many films/videos on issues including Indigenous Voices & Reconciliation, Diversity and Inclusion, and Environment and Sustainability  
  • Interactive and virtual reality activities


PROTECTION OF INFORMATION GUIDELINES

The NFB Campus resource requires Teachers to set up an account for use. Surrey Teachers will need to use their District email to do so and are encouraged to provide the least amount of personal information during the set up.
