Memory Game

GVZOO Animals

Collect items from around your home and/or outside. Place the objects together either on the floor, or in a flat basket, tray, platter, or plate. Have your child look closely at the objects and talk together about them. Cover the objects with a towel or blanket. Choose a way to play:

  • What’s Missing? – Take one object away without your child seeing. Remove the towel and ask, “What’s missing?” Switch roles with your child.
  • Add an Object – Add one object under the towel without your child seeing. Remove the towel and ask, “What is new?” Switch roles with your child.
  • Name the Objects – With the objects out of view, ask your child to name as many objects as they can remember. You may invite your child to draw and/or label the objects that they remember.
