Truth and Reconciliation

Truth and Reconciliation is about acknowledging the truth of Canada’s colonial history, particularly the genocide waged against Indigenous people through residential schools, the Indian Act, and other historical and ongoing wrongs. Action towards reconciliation involves commemorating survivors and lost children of residential schools, educating everyone about the ongoing impact of the system, and implementing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action. The key behind reconciliation is to put in the work to repair the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.
