In this video Allison Hotti, Indigenous Helping Teacher, shares how to weave a bracelet which students of all ages can do.  Allison used this activity to help her grade 2 students process their learning when absorbing difficult topics in the classroom.  The bracelet is then used as a witness piece.  The students gift the bracelet to a friend or family member and share their new learning with them.  Alternatively, some students have decided their weaving is a bookmark rather than a bracelet.  It has been found that doing a repetitive, hands-on task can help some students manage anxiety, aid their attention and focus on the main topic, and improve cognitive recall.  This is an activity that can be used at all grade levels.
