I'm having trouble hosting a Minecraft world from home. How do I fix this with port forwarding?

This post from the Minecraft Community Hub offers some suggestions about how to troubleshoot connection issues at home.

Some people have reported having success with port forwarding. In order to set up port forwarding, you'll need admin access to your router. This post describes the full process in detail, but the general steps are:

  1. Find the IP address of the device that you are using to host the Minecraft world
  2. Go to the Port Forwarding page of your router.
  3. Enter your IP address, the start port, and the end port (see screenshots below).
  4. For "Protocol," choose TCP.
  5. Repeat step 3…but for "Protocol," choose UDP.
