When children return to school in September, it doesn’t mean they are ready to learn. Attention issues, digital preoccupations, anxiety, and a host of other social and emotional challenges are now part of every classroom. Reclaiming our students and creating the safety and rest they need has never been more critical or daunting. Instead of quick fixes, we need to make sense of children and what has happened to the natural conditions we once relied on in education. There is a way through, but to go forward we will step back into nature’s plan for leading our children to curiosity, wonder and learning.
From theory to practice, from experience to implementation, Dr. Deborah MacNamara will weave developmental science into story, and return us to the classroom where we can create the conditions for our students to reach their full human potential.
