This is an invitation to join us for a virtual professional book club that will explore critical social justice theory and consider ways of applying the concepts and ideas in our practice. We will critically examine the resource Is Everyone Really Equal? by Ozlem Sensoy and Robin DiAngelo. This will be a participatory experience where teachers in teams of 2 will lead the discussion for one chapter; teachers may draw from questions provided by the resource or create their own. Each session will explore 2 chapters and each chapter discussion will be approximately 30 minutes in length with opportunity for breakout rooms. The goal is to support teachers in building a social justice foundation. We will gauge our success through facilitated conversations and how participates embed social justice concepts, strategies and tools in their practice.
