This book club is a good choice for groups with new-to-primary teachers and experienced teachers looking to affirm, remind, and extend their early reading practice.
School teams of educators are invited to form book study groups to dig into 7 Mighty Moves: Research-Backed, Classroom-Tested Strategies to Ensure K-to-3 Reading Success by Lindsay Kemeny.
One teacher from each school will commit to virtually attending monthly district book club sessions to unpack chapter content and leave equipped to facilitate their school-based book club. Schools may choose to have a facilitator team with members attending alternating virtual meetings.
Book club facilitators are committing to:
- participating in 1-hour virtual facilitator sessions, using their camera and microphone in breakout rooms;
- pre-reading the focus chapter(s) in preparation for the facilitator meetings;
- organizing and facilitating their school-based book club sessions.
Up to five copies of the book will be provided to each school team. Additional copies can be purchased through LRS.
