"When one unearths joy, one creates a legacy by imprinting into the minds and hearts of children.” Gholdy Muhammad, Unearthing Joy. In this 4-part afterschool series, primary school teams will engage in ‘joyful encounters’ with clay, loose parts, and printmaking to explore how materials develop, extend, and represent thinking. Together, we will come to understand how the Early Learning Framework can support our work through a reflective, experiential process of collaborative dialogue and meaning making. Through these sessions, we will consider; what does it look like when we contextualize concepts of identity and diversity, communication and literacies, well-being, and belonging, and relationships in our primary classrooms through materials? Teachers participating in this series will receive materials at each session to continue this work within their classrooms. For more information and to express interest, please click on this flyer.
