This workshop is specific to the Indigenous Graduation requirement courses (BC First Peoples 12 and Contemporary Indigenous Studies 12; if there is space left then registration will be opened to any Social Studies teacher). We will do a deep dive into Trauma Informed, Indigenous and Culturally Responsive Pedagogies. We will unpack Indigenous worldviews as well as the discomfort that exists for settlers teaching this content. This is an opportunity to support and collaborate with teachers across the district to embed these principles into curriculum design and assessment practices.
