2 After School Sessions (both must be attended to receive release day):
September 24 & October 8, 3:15-4:15 via Teams
Release Days: 2 TTOCs each for October 10, 15, 17, 22, 23
New elementary teachers that want support can attend 2 after school sessions that will focus on:
1. Curriculum: aspects of the new curriculum and how they all fit together
2. Unit Planning: KDU Model
3. Curricular Competencies/Historical Thinking Concepts/Benchmarks (article and
Guideposts, ‘Competencies and Me’ activity)
4. Assessment (Proficiency Levels)
5. Sample of a grade 4/5 unit
6. Print resources and Digital resources available
A site-based release day will be provided based on the individual needs of the respective teachers; this could include planning, co-teaching, doing a model lesson, etc.
Further follow up with group:
• Create TEAM chat/channel in the SS Team for New Teachers from DEC day to collaborate with one another.
