WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

This series of workshops will explore social justice in education and critically examine the structures, practices and resources within our practice with an equity, inclusion and an anti-racist lens. This will be a two year project that will begin with building a foundation in social justice education using the resources "Is Everyone really Equal?" and "Not Light but Fire". Teachers will also develop a literature circles unit that will take into consideration the diversity of the students in their classrooms, design equitable and culturally responsive instruction and assessment as well as select resources with a social justice lens.

This workshop is a two-session series and all participants must attend both sessionsTTOC's will be provided for the in-person, full-day sessions. All in-person sessions will be held at DEC from 9:00am - 2:30pm.
The first session for all participants will be on October 4th and January 29th.
The second session will be held over two days with 8 participants attending on February 14th, and the other 8 attending on February 26th.
