In this inquiry, teachers will engage in exploring culturally responsive teaching practices deeply rooted in the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion. Participants will uncover the significance of building cultural competence, operating from an asset-based approach, and prioritizing students at the center of learning. With a focus on practical strategies, this inquiry will provide opportunities for educators to reflect and build on their practice crafting classrooms where every student can thrive, achieve academic success, agency and critical consciousness.
Teachers will come together for a full release day at DEC on October 10th and again on January 15th to explore these concepts and initiate their inquiry.
