Fostering social justice learning is complex, but the reading of rich texts through Read Alouds, collaborative and independent reading can foster understandings. This workshop explores some key aspects of curriculum driven, and trauma sensitive reading for social justice, including own voice authorship; response & discussion structures that foster care, concern and a growing sense of agency; resource selection; reader identity & relevance.
