These vocabulary lessons were developed by Surrey teachers as part of a workshop series, using the recommendations of Isabel L. Beck, Margaret G. McKeown, and Linda Kucan, in their book, Bringing Words to Life.  Each lesson uses a picture book read-aloud as a starting point for introducing Tier 2 words.  

All featured picture books can be found in the LRS catalogue and ordered by Surrey schools using resource funds. Each picture book has an accompanying vocabulary lesson plan PDF to download and print.
