TAKING ACTION!

The hope here is to guide your students to authentically APPLY the knowledge and understanding they have acquired during the inquiry. It’s important for them to consider an audience and learn communication skills that maximize their impact.

How can they solve the problem, motivate others to help or invent a solution?

Inspire your students to use their expertise to make the world better!

Here are some ideas to spark your creativity:

Public Awareness Campaign – ex. Lead a “Save Power” initiative around your school.

Writing to Experts, Govt or Media - ex. Write a letter to your mayor advocating for more ways to recycle various materials.

Inventing and Design – Create your own solution to the problem

Creative fiction or Drama – ex. Create a green screen film that develops empathy for the immigrant groups in your community

Coding games and Simulations - Let others follow your journey virtually

Music & Dance – ex. Create an original score and write lyrics that to communicate your learning.

Community Service – Organize a visit to the nearest Senior Care Home to share with and learn from residents.

Get Outside! - How does your learning connect to your schoolyard, neighbourhood or town?

Interested in going one step deeper?

Encourage your students to make a plan to see if their action made a difference.  This could be a check in of some kind with your audience.  The results of this can provide new questions for another round of inquiry!
