SchoolAI is an all-in-one AI platform designed to personalize learning for students, streamline teaching for educators, and enhance administrative oversight. It offers tools for creating individualized lesson plans, tracking student progress, and ensuring a secure learning environment.

SchoolAI offers a variety of tools and features designed to enhance the educational experience for students, teachers, and administrators:
- Save time with Tools and Assistants: Easily tailor lesson plans, worksheets, quizzes, and more, automatically aligned to existing standards.
- Personalize learning for every student with Spaces: Spaces adapt to each student's learning style and pace, increasing comprehension and providing 1:1 support to improve outcomes.
- Monitor student engagement with Mission Control: Get real-time insights into student progress & sentiment, enabling timely interventions. Mission control also gives you full oversight of student interactions with AI, making it easy to manage a full classroom.
COST
SchoolAI has a free plan available to all teachers.
DISTRICT USE: APPROVED
- The free version of SchoolAI is approved for classroom use in the Surrey School District.
- SchoolAI requires verifiable parental consent for students under 16 years of age.
PRIVACY INFO
- The scope of the PIA is limited to the free teacher version of SchoolAI which has limited functionality and far fewer administrative tools than the paid (Enterprise) version. In general, teachers and students should be reminded that the system collects and stores ANY information it is provided with on ANY topic, no matter how personal. Caution is advised.
- SchoolAI uses OpenAI/Chat GPT, Anthropic and Google AI models as well as a number of (unidentified) open-source models. It offers Spaces, Tools and Assistants (chat bots) for both student and teacher us
- This platform is hosted in the United States of America. Student and teacher data will be transferred to and stored outside of Canada. Based on how the platform is used, this will include Personal Information and may include sensitive personal information. Teachers should use caution when assigning activities and when proposing discussion or research topics.
- According to School AI representatives, personal information and student data is not transmitted to Open AI and is not used for training AI models. There are both technical and contractual protections against this.
- To establish a teacher account, a school email address is required, along with First Name, Last Name, School, Grade and Subjects taught
- Teachers can invite students to a School AI Space or other activity by sending a link or providing a QR code
- When accessing School AI, students are asked to provide their names. Students should be encouraged to provide only their First Name OR First Name and Last Initial when joining. Alternatively, a pseudonym can be used.
- Teachers can monitor student activity in real time or review it later as it is saved in the system. Real-time monitoring is strongly advised.
- There are tools available for teachers that increase the risk of student sensitive personal information being shared outside of Canada. These include an Individual Education Plan (IEP) Goal Generator, An IEP generator and a Behavioural Intervention Plan (BIP) generator. Each of these tools request information about disabilities, learning challenges, behaviour challenges, illness, etc. Teachers should NOT use these tools for any identified student, particularly when using the free version.
