DESCRIPTION
This is a language learning platform with short reading, writing and listening game based activities. It is focused on building vocabulary and some grammar usage. It can be used as a resource for extra practice as the exercises are repetitive in nature. This is not intended to be a supplementary resource.

Bite-sized lessons focused on communication skills where points can be earned and levels unlocked. It has game-like features, challenges and reminders.
OTHER INFORMATION
There are 2 versions - Duolingo for Schools (free to all) or Duolingo Plus (available on subscription). Teachers can control who students engage with, assign work, monitor progress and adjust some of the language (based on student age and language proficiency). There is a way for teachers to manually add (or upload via .csv) accounts for students without having to include their ages (or their last names). A significant amount of additional personal information is required to use either the Duolingo Live Tutor service or the English Language Test. Parental consent should be obtained if using either of these. Otherwise, the District general consent will suffice. Duolingo is hosted on servers in the US.
