- Teachers can create accounts with their district credentials, without using any personal information.
- The Terms of Use prohibit accounts being opened by persons 13 and under, even though the content is promoted as suitable for dancers 8 and over.
- The intent of the teachers wanting to use the platform for SD36 appears to be to acquire a ‘studio’ license and share that license with students instead of other teachers as intended by the publisher.
- Student accounts will require an email address and password, but in the account creation process they will also have to indicate their level of dance proficiency, their goals in using the platform and the types of dance they are interested in. Teachers should note that all of this is personal information and therefore subject to FIPPA.
- Teachers sharing accounts with students should use all available privacy options to ensure student personal information is protected and that uploaded user content is strictly limited.
