With your child, choose a beautiful rock. You may wish to draw an ‘X’ or a face onto it. Have your child hide the rock either in a room of your home or outside in your yard. Have your child give verbal clues to lead you to find the rock, or clues such as “warm” or “hot” when you move close to where it is hidden, or “cold” or “cooler” when you move away from the hidden rock. Continue until you find the rock. Take turns hiding and describing for each other. You might invite your child to create a map of that space and mark an ‘X’ where you have hidden the rock.
