This or That?

GVZOO Animals

Give children as early as toddlers choices whenever possible.

For example, “Do you want to wear the red shirt or the blue shirt?” or “Would you like to draw a picture or read a book?”

Talk to your children about the consequences of every day decisions. For example, “what do you think will happen if we don’t wear our coats outside today?” “If you take that toy without asking your sister, how might she feel?” “If we stay up too late, what might happen tomorrow?”

Explain to your children the reasons for the decisions you are making. For example, if you are cooking dinner, explain why you are picking certain ingredients. How much are you making and why? This will help your child understand the decision-making process in action.
