Go for a walk in your neighbourhood. Ask your child to listen for sounds around them and notice something new. Go slow, and stop to notice things up close. Talk about your questions about what you hear and see. Invite the child to draw and/or label the things they heard and saw.
You might also want to notice letters and numbers in the neighbourhood on signs, houses, in parks, businesses or mailboxes. Your child might wish to draw places they noticed letters and numbers.
