Take time each day to play with your child and/or facilitate play between your children.
- Use active listening with your child. Show you are interested in what they are saying and their ideas and ask questions about what you are hearing from them.
- Set aside time each day for unstructured play time with your child. Let them take the lead in this time to decide what to play.
- If you need to do chores, try to involve your child in tasks they can help with. If they are too young, narrate what you are doing to help them feel connected to you.
